Apple Hires Artificial Intelligence, Deep Learning Expert

Tech giant Apple is upgrading its artificial intelligence division by hiring a known expert in the field. Apple recently hired Ruslan Salakhutdinov, an associate professor at Carnegie Mellon University, who heads the school's machine learning department.

Huawei and University of California want to create AI systems that will have practical application.
