To keep a Tab on China, India Dispatches Warship to Maldives

India on Sunday dispatched its largest and most potent warship, INS Vikramaditya, to Maldives along with two other aircraft warships - INS Mysore and INS Deepak. INS Vikramaditya will reportedly be performing maritime functions in Maldives from February 15 to 18.

Facebook's Free Basics service was on Monday, Feb. 8 banned in India after investigations showed that the service violated net neutrality provisions. A day after the ban was imposed, Facebook board member Marc Andreessen stood up to defend Free Basics. However, Andreessen's comments sparked more controversy and even Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg condemned the latter's statement.
China Issues Warning Over U.S. and India's Plan for Joint Naval Patrol in South China Sea

China on Thursday issued a cautious warning in response to a Reuters report that the U.S. and India are mulling a plan to conduct joint naval patrols in disputed South China Sea. Beijing has categorically stated that any interference from countries outside the region poses serious threat to the overall peace and stability.

Asia's richest man Wang Jianlin's Dalian Wanda Group has announced plans of investing in the construction of a $10 billion (Rs 67, 780 crore) industrial park in the northern part of India. This is expected to be the largest development project in the country.
