The Chinese embassy in Kuala Lumpur has not ascertained whether there were any Chinese citizens on board Malaysia Airlines flight MH17, when it went down in Ukrainian territory, killing all 298 passengers and crew.

Ukrainian army and Pro-Russian separatists fighting in Ukraine have both denied responsibility over the shooting of a Malaysian airlines with 295 people onboard all believed to have been killed on Thursday incident.
