Middling teams Chongqing Lifan FC (7-10-6, 27 points) and Yanbian Funde FC (8-9-5, 29 points) are set to face each other at the Chongqing Olympic Sports Center on Friday, Sep. 9 to begin the new round of 2016 Chinese Super League competitions.

Chongqing Lifan had been inconsistent in the past two months, alternating winning and losing with a 4-4 record in their last eight matches.
Manager Chang Woe-ryong's side is now at the 10th spot of the China top flight table with 27 points, seven points above the bottom two relegation zone but a long 13 points behind the third and final AFC Champions League berth for next season currently held by Shanghai Greenland Shenhua.
Their last game was a high-scoring 4-5 loss to Guangzhou R&F also at their home stadium in Chongqing on Aug. 21, their 10th defeat this term, as per Cri English.
An own goal from newly-acquired Brazilian striker Alan Kardec opened the scoring at the eighth minute before two straight goals from the hosts, courtesy of Wu Qing and Fernandinho, gave them a 2-1 advantage at the half.
The Blue Lions opened the second half with two goals of their own to make it 3-2, then an exchange of goals in the final 30 minutes of the match rose the score to 5-4 in favor of the visitors.
Meanwhile, Yanbian Funde's unbeaten run was snapped by Changchun Yatai, 0-1, at the Development Area Stadium also on Aug. 21, Xinhuanet reported.
Changchun defender Pei Shuai scored the lone goal of the game at the 58th minute to put a stop to the five-game undefeated streak of head coach Park Tae-ha's team.
