Ghanaian striker Asamoah Gyan confessed that he had made "some mistakes" while playing with Chinese Super League team Shanghai SIPG FC and that he did not want to repeat those again with his new club Al-Ahli Dubai FC.
Gyan was recently sent by the Red Eagles to the UAE Pro League club in a one-year loan deal and the 30-year-old Black Stars captain's enthusiasm was evident as he goes back to the league he competed in prior to his China move last summer.

The Accra, Ghana native suited up for another UAE squad, Al Ain FC, for four seasons from 2011 to 2015 before joining the China top flight outfit in July of 2015.
He was recently left in the reserve squad by SIPG head coach Sven-Göran Eriksson following the Chinese transfer record-breaking acquisition of Brazilian Hulk last June and rumors abound of his unhappiness afterward as he is said to be looking for a move away from Shanghai.
As his lack of first-team playing time continued, Gyan was linked to several English clubs such as his former team Sunderland, West Ham United, and the Championship's Reading FC.
However, reports have emerged last week that Gyan went through an unsuccessful medical with Reading, which is said to have led to his signing with former UAE rivals Al-Ahli.
"I'm ready to go, injuries are part of the game, just as long as they don't retire you," Gyan said, as per Peace FM Online. "Right now, I'm alright and ready to play football."
"There were some mistakes that I made when I was in China and I don't want to repeat those mistakes again," he said. "When I was in UAE before, I was playing almost every game. I want to listen to the staff and what they are going to say."
"I don't decide on my own, the staff decide when I play," he added.
Meanwhile, Ghana Web reported that Gyan had also revealed that former club Al Ain "refused to grant him the chance to return to the club", which is why he ended up with their arch-rivals instead.
The forward also apologized to Al Ain fans for not being able to return to them as his former team was not ready to receive him at this time.
Gyan then acknowledged that he is now part of the Al-Ahli family, saying that "Al Ahli were my worst enemy before, but right now I'm part of the family".
