Zaid Abbas, 32, led the Jordanian team with a game-high 22 points, seven rebounds, four assists, two steals, and one blocked shot in 31 minutes of playing time.
Jordan's naturalized player Darquavis Lamar Tucker finished the game with 18 points and handed out six assists while big man Mohammad Shaher Hussein contributed 15 points and seven rebounds.
Forward Pavel Micheev paced Kazakhstan with 20 points while guard Pavel Ilin had 16.
Jordan began the game with a strong start as they established an early 24-point lead in the opening quarter 37-13. However, Kazakhstan slowly trimmed down the margin as they held off the Jordanians in the second and third quarter with a combined 43-31 run to narrow the gap to 12 points.
In the final period of the match, Jordan unleashed another 21-15 charge to secure their first win of the tourney.
Jordan kicked off their campaign in the prestigious event with a dismaying 94-76 defeat against the 2015 FIBA Asia Championship winning team. The Chinese player outgunned the Jordanians in the three-point area, connecting 10 of their 21 attempts from beyond the arc while the Jordan team managed to drop three of the 20 shots they fired from the three-point line.
