New Leak Reveals Release Date of Mystery LeEco Phone

A handful of leaks have revealed that Chinese smartphone maker LeEco is working on a new device with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chipset. The exact name of the mystery LeEco smartphone is yet to be confirmed although a recent leak revealed that the device has the model name SD821. The mystery LeEco smartphone is expected to be launched on Sept. 21.

With the highly regarded Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chipset at its heart, the mystery LeEco smartphone is most likely billed for the premium market, according to Giz China. The phone could become the first smartphone to hit that market with the Snapdragon 821 chipset.
Backing up the Snapdragon 821 chipset is 6GB of memory and 64GB of storage space. The phone is expected to have a 16-megapixel rear facing main camera and a massive 5000mAh battery pack.
A leaked TENAA listing also revealed that the mystery LeEco phone would most likely sport a dual camera design, a feature that has become a trend nowadays. The TENAA listing also revealed that the phone would have its fingerprint scanner situated on the rear side just below the camera sensor.
In July, a set of leaked photos revealed that LeEco's upcoming phone would sport an all-metal build, according to GSM Arena. The leak also revealed that the phone's antenna lines are located on the top and bottom of the smartphone.
A benchmark test result was also leaked just days after the renders surfaced. With the phone's Snapdragon 821 chipset, the mystery LeEco phone managed to score 154, 272 on Antutu's benchmark test.
