Chinese tech giant Xiaomi has been the talk of the tech community due to the company's innovations. Recently, rumors have been brewing regarding an updated model of the Xiaomi Mi5. The aptly named Xiaomi Mi5s is expected to be released very soon.

The Xiaomi Mi5s would sport a 5.15-inch display. There are rumors that the new display would have more LEDs to make it brighter. There are also rumors that the Mi5s will retain the black border design of its predecessor.

The original Xiaomi Mi5 sports a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset with a powerful rear-facing camera sensor. Although not much is known about the upcoming Mi5s model, tech analysts believe that Xiaomi would be throwing in significant upgrades to make the smartphone standout in the market.

Recently, a leaked photo revealed that the Xiaomi Mi5s would sport an upgraded Snapdragon 821 chipset with a processor clocked at 2.4GHz. There are speculations that Xiaomi will equip the Mi5s with at least 6GB of LPDDR4 memory clocked at 1866 MHz. The Mi5s is also rumored to support up to 256GB of microSD storage.

The Mi5s will retain most of the hardware specs of the original model. This means that the smartphone would have a 3490mAh battery pack, a 16-megapixel rear camera sensor with 4-axis OIS, and a USB Type-C port.

According to Giz China, Xiaomi is gearing up to release the Mi5s in the coming weeks. As the release date of the Mi5s draws closer, tech analysts are expecting the price of the original Mi5 to drop to open up market space for the new model.
