Shanghai Shenhua is currently on a five-game unbeaten run that allowed them to hold firm the third spot in the overall standings.

Their last game was a 1-1 tie with Guangzhou R&F on the road at the Yuexiushan Stadium last Sunday, which actually snapped their four-game winning streak, as per Sofa Score.

Blue Lions midfielder Renatinho netted the opening goal of the contest right at the seventh minute with the assist coming from local midfielder Tang Miao.

The visitors were then able to level the count four minutes into the second half of the match with a goal from team captain Giovanni Moreno off a pass by striker Obafemi Martins.

Both teams went scoreless for the rest of the match as Shenhua avoided a loss for the fifth straight game.

Meanwhile, Chongqing Lifan nipped Yanbian Funde, 2-1, at their home ground of Chongqing Olympic Sports Center last Friday to register their third win in the last five rounds, via Xinhuanet.

Brazilian striker Fernandinho broke the game's deadlock with two minutes left before halftime to give head coach Chang Woe-ryong's side a one-point lead at the break.

The hosts then doubled their lead with a spot kick from another Brazilian import, forward Alan Kardec, at the 69th minute.

Yanbian was able to score a consolation goal in injury time courtesy of a shot from local forward Jin Bo but it was all they could come up as Chongqing came away with the victory.
