Animals Asia, an animal welfare charity, has expressed interest in moving a polar bear named Pizza to the Yorkshire Wildlife Park.
Pizza currently lives in a mall in China. The bear attracted global attention earlier this year when a video showing the animal "teary-eyed" and slumped on the floor of his enclosure went viral.

Animals Asia started a petition to shut down the "ocean theme park." The petition has been signed by over 575,000 people. The park is located at the Grandview Centre in Guangzhou, China.
After Pizza's situation had been publicized, park authorities claimed that several improvements had been made. However, Animals Asia insists that the situation is still bad, and is "nothing natural."
According to the BBC, the theme park also houses other animals such as arctic foxes, a wolf, walrus calves, and beluga whales. Dave Neale, Animals Asia's welfare director, said: "We would be delighted to see Pizza end up at Yorkshire Wildlife Park."
Animals Asia said that it would not offer any financial payments for the animal. It expressed the fear that the payment may be used to buy more animals. Animals Asia said that at Yorkshire Wildlife Park, Pizza would get the opportunity to be part of a community of bears.
"The good news now for Grandview is that they now have the chance to put their mistake right," The Guardian quoted Neale saying The park has not responded yet.
If the offer is accepted, then the cost of transfer will be raised. At the Yorkshire Wildlife Park, Pizza will get to live in specially created habitat for polar bears spanning 10 acres and two lakes.
