As the United States commemorated the 13th anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks Thursday, an American Northern Command General said that, with the growing threats from ISIS, the country faces as much peril today as it did in 2001.
General Chuck Jacoby said the United States can never allow itself to tire in defending their homes, their freedom, and their treasured way of life.

Jacoby and Canadian Defense Minister Robert Nicholson commemorated the 9/11 terror attacks at a Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Station in Colorado.
Jacoby had ordered the Northern Command troops to be vigilant as they continue to be alert for terror threats from the Islamic State known as ISIS. The Command has been in charge of defending the continent from ISIS attacks and other terrorist groups.
Canadian Defense Minister Nicholson said Canada is a partner of the North American Aerospace Defense Command based in Colorado Springs.
Jacoby and Nicholson said they are monitoring north of the border for possible ISIS threats.
The two leaders refused to provide specific details regarding the threats but they said they were aware of the terror group's direct threat to the United States following the air strikes the military launched targeting ISIS in Iraq.
Jacoby stated that both the U.S. and Canada are concerned with the threats.
Jacoby's pronouncements come on the heels of President Barack Obama's recent order to the military to escalate and widen its air strike campaign against the militant group in Syria and Iraq.
The Pentagon announced it will send an additional 475 advisors to Iraq in a bid to roll back ISIS.
Jacoby announced that Canada also plans on sending troops to the country in an effort to send the message to ISIS that their threats will not be condoned or tolerated.
