Triumphant Chinese Paralympic Delegation Arrives in Beijing Following Successful Rio Campaign

The Chinese national delegation was graciously welcomed as they arrived in Beijing on Tuesday after a successful campaign in the recently concluded Rio Paralympic Games in Brazil.
The Chinese delegation wrapped up the 11-day international sporting competition with an outstanding 107 gold, 81 silver and 51 bronze medals won, making it the third country to win 100 gold medals in a single edition of the prestigious mega-event for the athletes with disabilities in the Paralympic Games' history, according to Prensa Latina.

In an interview, China's blind soccer player Wang Zhoubin expressed satisfaction over the national team's overall performance in the said international event.
"We played well this time and showed what we have learned from the daily training," the 26-year-old Chinese athlete said. "The semifinals against Brazil impressed me most in which we tried our best, but the host did better than us, we are satisfied with this result."
China's men's national blind soccer squad finished fourth in Rio after they lost the battle-for-third against the Argentine national team. Host Brazil claimed the top honors of the event, while Iran took the silver medal.
The swimming event, on the other hand, provided 37 gold medals for the country. Athletics followed with 32 gold medals, while the table tennis team secured 13. Wheelchair fencing, shooting, powerlifting, archery, cycling and judo gave China a total of 25 gold medals won.
Vice chairperson of China Disabled Persons' Federation Li Zhijun also showed her contentment with the achievement of the athletes.
"I am proud of them and inspired by their spirits, and I think the whole nation will be proud of what they have achieved in this campaign." Li said in Xinhua's report.
Great Britain finished second taking home 64 gold medals followed by Ukraine with 41, the United States with 40 and Australia with 22.
The Rio Paralympic Games was China's fourth straight time to dominate the medal race after topping the medal tally in Athens, Beijing and London.
