Chinese smartphone maker Alcatel has announced that its latest entry-level device - the Alcatel Idol 4 smartphone - will soon be available in Canada. The device will be sold exclusively via Videotron along with a free Alcatel Virtual Reality Goggles.

The Chinese company also revealed that the Alcatel Idol 4 smartphone would be available for purchase at Videotron stores in the country starting Sept. 30 this month. The device was initially launched in China, and later it was introduced to other international markets including the Unites States.

The Alcatel Idol 4 smartphone features a 5.2-inch display that supports Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display resolution. Under the hood, the device is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor clocked at a speed of 1.5Ghz paired with 2GB of RAM onboard. It comes equipped with a huge built-in 16GB internal memory storage, which can be expandable up to 128GB via microSD card.

The Alcatel Idol 4 sports a 13-megapixels primary camera with an impressive video recording quality and LED flash support. On the front is an 8-megapixels wide-angle camera for selfies and video calling purposes. The device runs on the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system out the box.

The Alcatel Idol 4 smartphone features dual 3.6-watt speakers with Waves Audio technology. It is fueled by a non-removable 2,610 mAh capacity battery, which, according to Alcatel, can last a day on standby time or up to 15 hours of talk time.
