Wuhan Open 2016: Johanna Konta Beats Zhang Shuai to set Third Round Matchup With Carla Suarez Navarro

(Photo : gettyimages.com) Johanna Konta outplayed Zhang Shuai in two-straight sets 6-3, 6-3 to progress to the third round of the ongoing 2016 Dongfeng Motor Wuhan Open.
Great Britain's blue-chip women's singles tennis player Johanna Konta successfully passed through the second round of the ongoing 2016 Dongfeng Motor Wuhan Open after ousting home crowd favorite Zhang Shuai at the Optics Valley International Tennis Center on Tuesday.
Konta outplayed Zhang in two straight sets 6-3, 6-3 to progress to the third round of the tennis competition. According to EuroSport, the 25-year-old British tennis star remains on track in her bid to reach the upcoming WTA Finals in Singapore following her most recent victory.

With a total of four official matches played, the British No. 1 registered her third victory over Zhang and Konta's second win this year against the Chinese tennis star.
Konta will be playing the tournament's Carla Suarez Navarro of Spain on Wednesday.
According to BBC, Konta broke twice in each set, hitting eight aces along the way as she walked away with the win.
