NBA trade rumors  claiming that the Sacramento Kings could send DeMarcus Cousins and Ben McLemore to the Portland Trail Blazers in exchange for CJ McCollum and Mason Plumlee have emerged.

Inquisitr reported that the Kings and Blazers "may be hammering out the details on a potential deal" that would move Cousins and McLemore to Portland in return for McCollum, Plumlee and a 2017 first-round draft pick.

Cousins' name being mentioned in trade rumors is not a new thing as the two-time NBA All-Star had been in the rumor mill since last summer. The 26-year-old former Kentucky standout has been linked with different teams since then, such as the Los Angeles Lakers, Boston Celtics, New York Knicks, Toronto Raptors, Miami Heat, Chicago Bulls and Cleveland Cavaliers, but nothing has come to fruition.

Kings owner Vivek Ranadivé and general manager Vlade Divac are both keen that they intend to build their team around Cousins and so they vow that he will definitely not be dealt. Yet, trade rumors talking about Cousins would not stop.

Looking closely at the rumored trade with the Blazers, the most evident factor why it will not push through is that the salaries involved are not matched. The salaries of Cousins and McLemore add up to $21 million while those of McCollum and Plumlee are only $5.5 million combined.

McCollum's new four-year contract worth $26.6 million annually is set to take effect in the beginning of the 2017-2018 season.

Portland is highly unlikely to approve this kind of a deal because the club "would have to add a great deal of salary to make this trade work", according to the report.

Meanwhile, Cousins to the Raptors in exchange for Lithuanian big man Jonas Valanciunas has also been swirling around the rumor mill at the moment.

Morning News USA indicated that should the Kings once again have a poor start to the upcoming season, the odds of Cousins getting traded will increase and Toronto is said to be a willing trade partner for Sacramento.

The report suggested an NBA trade scenario that would send Cousins and Darren Collison to the Raptors in exchange for Valanciunas, Cory Joseph, and Norman Powell.
