Brook Lopez is in the Brooklyn Nets' rumor mill all summer long and latest reports have emerged that he could be traded to the Chicago Bulls or the Indiana Pacers when the new season starts next month.
The Nets is evidently starting a lengthy and painstaking rebuild after years of disappointment. However, the franchise does not have major draft assets to kick start the process and so getting involved in trades is the most likely way to do it.

Brooklyn had lost its gamble of trying to "win now" during their infamous trade with Boston in the summer of 2013 when they acquired virtually two-thirds of the Celtics' Big Three in Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce while giving away a plethora of draft picks and young players.
The said players are already gone and with nothing left on their side, the Nets could take another bet by trading Lopez, who is arguably their best trade chip at the moment.
One of the latest rumors with regards to Lopez is the Bulls' interest in acquiring him as replacement for Paul Gasol, who decided to join the San Antonio Spurs in free-agency this summer, according to Chat Sports Net.
Although Chicago managed to sign Dwyane Wade and Rajon Rondo this offseason, head coach Fred Hoiberg's frontcourt had been severely depleted with Gasol's move to San Antonio and Joakim Noah's exit to the New York Knicks.
The report suggested that a trade sending Lopez to the Bulls in exchange for Nikola Mirotic, Bobby Portis, and this year's 14th overall selection Denzel Valentine could work for both parties.
Another rumor is the one Sportsrageous reported, which involves the Pacers "trading Al Jefferson and future draft picks" to the Nets for Lopez.
This scenario will be possible once the NBA's deadline for trading newly-signed free agents expires in the middle of December.
The said trade would not only give the Nets the draft picks that they need to continue their rebuild, but will also allow them to have a steady, veteran inside presence in Jefferson while upgrading.
As for Indiana, adding Lopez to the starting lineup of Paul George, Jeff Teague, Thaddeus Young and Monta Ellis will instantly make them one of the top contenders in the East.
