The latest football transfer rumors have suggested that FC Barcelona is eyeing Juventus striker Paulo Dybala as the potential long-term successor of superstar Lionel Messi at the Camp Nou.

The Sun reported that Barça is preparing to bid for the 22-year-old Dybala next summer as the young goalscorer is "tipped for big future" in Catalonia.

Barcelona had been busy this summer acquiring players in between 22 to 23 years old, such as Denis Suárez, Andre Gomes, Lucas Digne, Samuel Umtiti and Paco Alcacer, as the Spanish giants are said to be preparing for a future without their multi-titled attacking trio of Messi, Luis Suárez and Neymar.

Messi has turned 29 last June, Suárez is also 29, while Neymar is only 24, so there are still a few years left for the Blaugrana's Big Three to be at their prime. Neymar will definitely last more than his two fellow illustrious teammates, but without a contingency plan to remain competitive, Barça mayeventually lose him also.

Thus, rumors abound that the Catalan giants will "make a move" for Messi's compatriot, Dybala, at the end of the season.

Tribal Football indicated that Barcelona will not hesitate to pay €120 million for Dybala, which would be in the same region as the recent world transfer record-breaking acquisition of his former Juve teammate Paul Pogba by Manchester United.

The said amount was reportedly approved by Barça directors and is now being prepared for the big proposal next summer.

The La Liga outfit will also "intend to use the influence" of Messi on his young Argentina teammate to convince Dybala to join him in Spain.

It remains to be seen, though, whether Dybala would welcome the chance of being the best footballer of the next generation and play under the wings of who is considered as the greatest football player in history.

Dybala is on his second year with Juventus after he was acquired last summer from fellow Serie A squad Palermo for €40 million. In his first season with the Old Lady, the Argentinian scored 23 goals in 46 appearances in all competitions.
