Paramount Pictures revealed it has teamed up with China's Huahua Media and Shanghai Film Group for its upcoming Tom Cruise starrer film Jack Reacher: Never Go Back.

Furthermore, Huahua Media and Shanghai Film Group will join Paramount China as marketing partners for the movie, which is set to open in China and U.S. cinemas on October 21, the Deadline reported.

"We are excited that its team - and that of Shanghai Film Group - has come aboard as we release Jack Reacher: Never Go Back around the world," Brad Grey, Chairman and CEO of Paramount Pictures, said.

Huahua Media has previously teamed up with Paramount in Star Trek Beyond that grossed $62 million in the China box office after it was released early September and Transformers: Age of Extinction in 2014, in which the film amassed $300 million in China, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

"Huahua is a valuable collaborator with extensive marketing resources that have allowed us to deliver our biggest franchise films to audiences all over the world. We are thrilled to be working with them again, and to partner with Shanghai Film Group, on Jack Reacher," Megan Colligan, president of worldwide distribution and marketing, told The Wrap.

Shanghai Film Group, on the other hand, oversees over 2,000 cinema screens and creates, produces, distributes, and exhibits films and TV series in China.

"Both Tom Cruise and his Jack Reacher character are universally loved in China, so we are excited to be able to bring this new film to fans there," Ren Zhonglun, president of Shanghai Film Group, said, adding that the company is looking forward to be working with Huahua and Paramount Pictures.

Jack Reacher: Never Go Back features the return of Cruise as an ex-Army investigator who needs to uncover a major government conspiracy in order to clear his name and the name of his friend accused of treason.
