Swedish auto manufacturer Volvo recently announced that it may start rolling out fully autonomous self-driving cars within the next five years.
With the company's upcoming upgraded autopilot feature, Volvo revealed that will add at least $10,000 to the cost of its vehicles.
While many market analysts expressed their dismay about the hefty price tag to embed an autopilot feature into a car, Volvo said its autopilot technology is different from what other auto manufactures have been offering until this day.

The Swedish company further disclosed that with its autopilot technology, drivers may not even be required to look at the road to guide the car.
It can be noted that Tesla Motors has been among the most prominent brands when it comes to vehicles with auto pilot feature. However, Tesla's autopilot technology still requires drivers to hold the steering wheel to take control of the car in case of emergency.
As with Volvo's planned fully autonomous cars, the company claimed that its autopilot technology would let drivers to "completely disengage."
In an interview with Bloomberg, Volvo chief executive officer Hakan Samuelsson said, "To make a car even more premium, one of the most interesting things is a full autopilot."
"Not a supervised version, but really the one that you can sit back and watch a movie or whatever," he added.
Despite its full autonomous driving mechanism, Volvo said they will still add a steering wheel to their autonomous cars, just in case drivers feel the need of driving manually.
Earlier this month, Volvo signed a partnership pact with automotive safety systems firm Autoliv to develop a "next generation autonomous driving software."
