Actor and frequent host Alec Baldwin has returned to "Saturday Night Live" to present his take on the recently concluded debate between two presidential aspirants, Republican's Donald Trump and Democrat's Hillary Clinton.

The 58-year-old "The Hunt for Red October" star played Trump on his latest gig which kicked off the 42nd season of the highly-praised comedy show.

According to Reuters, Baldwin opened SNL's new season with an extended sketch featuring himself playing Trump on a head-to-head debate against Clinton which was masterfully played by Kate McKinnon.

A significant portion of the sketch was a direct parody of what transpired on the recent Clinton-Trump debate, which included references to talk show host Rosie O'Donnel and Fox News anchor Sean Hannity.

Baldwin's Trump character ended the sketch with a proclamation passage, "End of story, I won the debate, I stayed calm just like I promised, and, it is over. Goodnight."

When he was told by the moderator that there were still 88 minutes remaining on the clock, Baldwin abruptly responded by saying that his microphone is broken and that Clinton broke it, along with President Obama.

When asked about her opponent's rambling, McKinnon's Clinton simply responded with a witty one-liner, "I think I'm going to be president." A statement that was wildly applauded by the live audience.

To deliver a more balanced sketch, SNL writers also made sure that they had enough banter against the Democrat's side. One banter involved beauty queen Alicia Machado which the writers refer to simply as a "political prop." Machado was recently on the receiving end of one of Trump's harsh remarks regarding an alleged sex tape.
