The Golden State Warriors opened its preseason with the obliteration of the Los Angeles Clippers. The game was also the first time Kevin Durant dons the Dubnation uniform, and he did it with finesse and grace when he fired the first shot, scoring the first points for the Warriors.

The match ended with 120-75 Warriors win. Durant scored his first points of the season 84 seconds after the initial jump ball. Seated on the sideline, Warriors majority owner Joe Lacob jumped to his feet perhaps in jubilation after successfully wooing of the former Oklahoma Thunder superstar to join his organization.

As for the rest of the Warriors squad, it was business as usual. Klay Thompson finished the game with 30 points. Durant, on his debut, added 21 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists. Warriors main man Stephen Curry added 14 points, three rebounds, five assists, and three steals.

Marreese Speights, who played for the Warriors in the last three seasons, lead the Clippers in scoring with 14 points. He also posted five rebounds. It was an off night for the Clippers who shot 32 percent from the field and just 22 percent from the three-point range.

The Warriors displayed a fast paced and formidable team play despite two of its starting players being new signings. In a statement acquired by Mercury News, Warriors' Draymond Green said, "That's the way we play. If you're open, shoot the ball."
