Miami Heat president Pat Riley's decision to effectively end Chris Bosh's stint with the organization remains one of the most hotly debated topics in the league.
While Riley is looked upon as a intrepid businessman, his latest decision is viewed by observers as a catastrophe from a financial point of view and not as act of altruism for one of the Heat's key players.

The Heat is still smarting from its contractual dispute with Dwayne Wade, an issue that might have influenced the superstar's decision to move to Chicago.
The Heat re-signed Bosh to a maximum contract in 2014 when LeBron James decided to part ways with the organization and move back to Cleveland.
This means the organization will owe Bosh $79 million over the next three years, or from the time the new contract was signed.
While that contractual obligation is guaranteed, the league offers an exception for illnesses and career-ending injuries involving its players.
If Miami can successfully pursue this track, the organization could use Bosh's salary as leverage and open up a lot of options for the Heat.
This means that if Bosh will not play this season, the Heat will enter the 2017 free agency with an additional $25 million salary cap.
Entering the free agency with enough money will essentially give the Heat a chance to significantly build up its roster.
The 2017 free agency market is an interesting one with stars like Blake Griffin, Stephen Curry, and Kevin Durant up for grabs should they decide not to exercise their player options, according to The Washington Post.
Some analysts say Riley's decision regarding Bosh's future will have a positive impact on the career of the Miami Heat Star. However, a closer look at the deal might convince others that it is simply about business.
