The plan is to keep the game in Steam Early Access for at least six months before releasing the full version. "Serious Sam VR: The Last Hope" will have a price tag of $40.

According to Hot Hardware, the new virtual reality "Serious Sam" game will require an HTC Vive VR headset, along with designated hand controllers. Since this is a virtual reality game, the HTC Vive does require serious hardware to fully render an immersive VR environment.

To start with, "Serious Sam VR: The Last Hope" requires at least an Intel Core i5-4590 processor. The virtual reality headset requires at least an AMD Radeon R9 290 or a Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 graphics card. The Vive also requires at least 6GB of RAM and 10GB of storage space.

"Serious Sam VR: The Last Hope" will put players into the shoes of Sam "Serious" Stone as he tries to save the galaxy during the crucial point of the first Mental War. Players will get access to a variety of weapons to deal with hordes of monsters. Croteam confirmed that among Sam's arsenal of weapons are the mini gun and the quad-rocket launcher.
