As the official start of the new NBA season fast approaches, several teams are looking to snatch a trade deal in order to acquire a much needed boost. The NBA rumor mill is currently abuzz with speculations about the possible trade of Sacramento Kings big man DeMarcus Cousins to the Boston Celtics.

Rumors about Cousins moving to the Celtics have been brewing since the start of the off season, and these have become even louder as the new season is set to begin soon.

There have been a handful of possible trade scenarios that are being discussed in a number of basketball forums online.

According to HNGN, one scenario involves the Celtics acquiring Cousins while the Kings, in exchange, will get guard Marcus Smart along with a future draft pick.

Another possible option for Cousins, based on the recent NBA trade rumors, will be Smart and power forward Amir Johnson going to the Kings.

The possibility of acquiring Cousins will have a big impact on the Celtics' gameplay on both ends of the floor, especially with Al Horford getting the much needed help.

With several NBA teams reorganizing their squad to be more mobile and fast, investing on a big man is otherwise seen as a dangerous prospect.

Following the acquisition of Horford, Celtics general manager Danny Ainge said the organization is still looking for a viable "contender," probably to aid Horford down the stretch. Cousins, considered as a premier big man in the league, is a very interesting pick for the Celtics should they be able to finalize the deal.
