Several reports in the past have hinted that HTC and Under Armour are working together on a project to create a smartwatch. Recently, a set of leaked photographs have unceremoniously revealed the smartwatch powered by Android Wear and named HTC Halfbeak.

The leak, which first surfaced on Chinese social networking platform Weibo, revealed a smartwatch that sports a circular face with Google's operating system for smart wearable devices running on it. Based on the photos, the HTC Halfbeak is still in its early development phase.

A total of five photographs were shared and each of them revealed a key aspect of the smartwatch.

One photo suggested that the smartwatch is running on Android Wear version 5.1.1, a version of the operating system that was released more than a year ago and has been updated several times. This particular leak may prove that HTC and Under Armour may have been working on the Halfbeak for quite some time already, according to Digital Trends.

Meanwhile, a couple of the leaked images disclosed that the Halfbeak smartwatch will sport a thick strap, which from the looks of it, may be made of either rubber or silicone. The underside, on the other hand, features the heart rate monitor and the HTC and Under Armour brandings.

It can be recalled that that the tech manufacturer and sports wear maker announced about their partnership for an unconfirmed project way back during the first quarter of 2015.

Following the announcement, speculations about the type of product the two companies might be working on quickly surfaced on several tech websites, with the smartwatch being the most talked about. Not much is known about the HTC Halfbeak, but with the leakage, HTC and Under Armour may already share more information about it soon.
