The Los Angeles Clippers are reportedly willing to trade Blake Griffin to the New York Knicks for a package that includes Kristaps Porzingis as the team plans to shakeup its roster ahead of the upcoming season.

Griffin has been one of the most mentioned names in the NBA rumor mill these past few months as the Clippers are again not expected to go deeper in the playoffs next year.

With the further improvement of the Golden State Warriors and San Antonio Spurs, the chances of head coach Doc Rivers' crew advancing to the Western Conference Finals has become even slimmer at this time.

The Clippers have never actually gone past the conference semifinals in all the five seasons that the Big Three of Griffin, Chris Paul, and DeAndre Jordan have been together and so trading any one of them would make sense.

In an interview last month, Rivers admitted that the team is ready to trade one or two of the said Big Three before the February trade deadline if things begin to look south again in 2016-2017.

The latest trade rumor involving Griffin is a deal with the Knicks for a package that would include super-sophomore Porzingis and veteran center Joakim Noah, according to HNGN.

With Griffin having the choice to opt out of his contract at the end of the season, speculations abound that the five-time NBA All-Star might test the free-agency market. If that happens, Griffin will surely receive a lot offers from interested clubs and the Clippers may end up losing the former Oklahoma standout for nothing.

"The Celtics and us and Oklahoma (City), we all thought we were going to get Kevin Durant," said Rivers while talking about players who decide to jump ship during free-agency, according to Sportsrageous. "I don't have a problem with that, I really don't. I think the players have a right. They take the risk of being free agents."

A lot of NBA analysts suggest that trading Griffin now would be the best move for the Clippers while the power forward's value is still quite high.

It should be noted that the Clippers were able to advance to the playoffs last season even with Griffin only suiting up in 35 games. The main reason why the Clippers lost to Portland in the first round was that Paul got injured. Otherwise, the team had been standing their ground as one of the best teams in the West.

Getting Porzingis and Noah would be a good deal as the Clips will not only get younger players, but the team will also improve its depth.
