Sacramento Kings Vice President and General Manager Vlade Divac has confirmed that Rudy Gay and Ben McLemore will stay with the team in the upcoming season amid trade rumors surrounding both players.

According to Hoops Hype, Kings wingmen Gay and McLemore are likely to stay put in Sacramento for the foreseeable future as Divac disclosed that the club has no plans of trading either one of them anytime soon.

With regards to McLemore, Divac said in a radio interview that the management is "very happy" with him and his continuous progress.

"You're going to receive a lot of calls, you're going to make a lot of calls," Divac said. "We're very happy with Ben (McLemore), the way he's progressing this summer. He's a very young player that we like a lot, so we're going to keep him."

He acknowledged Gay's talent and his importance to the plans of the team. Divac admitted, however, that there is a chance the former Connecticut standout may choose to move to a different team next summer when he becomes a free agent.

"Rudy is a tremendous talent, he's somebody that's beautiful to watch the way he plays," said Divac. "We think Rudy is a big part of this team to be successful, so we decide to go with him. If he decides to stay next year, that's great. If he decides to leave, that's fine. But we want to make sure we compete this year."

Divac's admission of the team's plan to advance to the playoffs this upcoming season makes sense as Sacramento had never qualified for the postseason in 10 years now.

Franchise player DeMarcus Cousins has never experienced playoff basketball before. He could opt out of his current deal at the end of the season and become a free agent next summer, so this season could be a make or break one for the Kings.

Fox Sports listed Gay as one of nine players that will most likely to be traded in or before the February deadline next year.
