Tournament's defending champion and top-seeded player Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland easily entered the second round of the ongoing 2016 WTA Tianjin Open after convincingly defeated Tatjana Maria of Germany on Wednesday in China.

According to the WTA's official website, the 27-year-old Radwanska scored a dominating 6-1, 6-2 straight-set victory against the German tennis ace to further extend her winning runs after conquering the recently concluded China Open in Beijing last week. The current world No. 3 Polish tennis star wrapped up her opening round match in just 61 minutes to book a second round showdown against the 103rd-ranked Evgeniya Rodina of Russia on Thursday.

The 27-year-old Russian passed the first round of the tourney after upsetting world No. 44 Cristina McHale of the United States in three sets triumph 6-1, 5-7, 6-0 on Tuesday.

"Firstly, I'm very happy to win my match pretty quickly," the 2012 Wimbledon winner Radwanska said after the match. "It's good to have the opening round in two sets and be fresh for the next round."

"I'm very happy that I could keep it up and play at the same level as at the China Open," the native of Krakow added.

According to Sport24, Radwanska managed to break Maria's serve in the second and fourth games to take the set 6-1 in the opening set of the match.  In the following set, the multi-awarded Polish player showcased another dominating game to claim the match with a remarkable 6-2 victory.

Radwanska won the title last year after beating Danka Konvinic of Montenegro with a straight-set 6-1, 6-2 triumph. A successful campaign in the competition would make Radwanska the first player to win back-to-back titles of the young tennis event.

"This year is much better. I already qualified in China Open so of course there is less pressure," the Polish tennis star said. "But you still want to win the tournament, still want to play your best game, just a little less pressure."
