Poland's elite tennis player Agnieszka Radwanska continued her winning ways as she advances to the quarterfinal stage of the 2016 Tianjin Open after defeating Russia's Evgeniya Rodina 6-1, 6-1 on Thursday.
Despite the victory, the tournament's defending champion pulled out of the tennis competition with a right thigh injury. It was a surprising development as Radwanska had won the last eight matches she played since she won the recently ended China Open.

Radwanska kicked off her title defense with a 6-1, 6-2 victory over German Tatjana Maria yesterday. The 27-year-old won the title last year after prevailing against Danka Konvinic of Montenegro in a two-straight sets triumph.
The current world No. 3 completed a third round victory against the 103rd-ranked Russian in just one hour and five minutes without dropping a set. However, the Polish tennis star decided to pull out of the USD 250,000 international level WTA event to give herself time to fully recover prior to the upcoming WTA Finals that will be held in Singapore later this month, Associated Press reported.
"It's the end of the season, I guess everyone is struggling with something," she said in comments posted on the WTA website.
Radwanska was supposed to face Chinese veteran Peng Shuai, a former U.S. Open semifinalist, in the quarterfinal round. Peng outclassed Chang Kai-Chen with a straight-set 6-3, 6-2 victory.
