Los Angeles Clippers head coach Doc Rivers is reportedly still unsure who will be the team's starting small forward in the upcoming season as they head into the final two matches of this year's NBA Preseason Games.

The Clippers edged out the Portland Trail Blazers, 109-108, at the Staples Center on Thursday and Rivers has chosen to start Luc Mbah a Moute at number three for the second time in four preseason matches.

Mbah a Moute's first start was during the team's preseason-opener versus the Golden State Warriors at the Oracle Arena on Oct. 4, where they were crushed by 45 points, 120-75. In the other two games, Rivers started new acquisition Alan Anderson and Austin Rivers, respectively.

ESPN indicated that Rivers has yet to decide who will be his final choice as the coach is still picking from at least three players for the position.

"You know, you guys make a bigger deal about starters and stuff. We're just looking at combinations," said Rivers before the game against Portland, via the Los Angeles Times. "We feel like we pretty much know where we want to go, but you're always looking for a combination where you say, 'Wow, that's pretty good' or 'Oh, that's awful.'"

Aside from Mbah a Moute, Anderson and Rivers, the coach is also considering to start Wesley Johnson, who has been with the team since last summer.

The four other starting spots are said to be "set in stone" with Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, DeAndre Jordanand JJ Redick, but the fifth one "could resemble a revolving door," reports say.

Rivers claimed that it will all depend on which team they are facing in a particular night, which means there could be no regular starter for the said spot throughout the season.

"One day you need a guy that's a great defender, some days you need another ball-handler, some days you need a space guy," the coach said. "There's no one guy that does all those things, so we either are going to decide to go with one or go with many. I'm good either way."
