Basketball News: China Outlasts Qatar to Advance to FIBA Asia Champions Semis

Unbeaten China Kashgar outlasted a determined Qatari basketball squad of Al Rayyan with a 95-84 overtime victory in the ongoing 25th edition of the FIBA Asia Champions Cup on Friday evening at the Chenzhou Olympic Sports Centre Gymnasium to secure a spot in the semifinal round of the international basketball club tournament.

With the momentum on their side, the host team overpowered the Qataris during the overtime period with a 20-9 charge to seal the game with a win.

China will be facing Petrochimi of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the semifinals. The Iranians prevailed over the team of Iraq's Al Shorta in their quarterfinal match with an 88-67 triumph.

Preston Knowles paced Al Rayyan with game-high 37 points and with nine boards and four assists under his name.
