Some NBA rumors suggested that Miami Heat could trade starting point guard Goran Dragic if their regular season campaign will start slow now that Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh are no longer with the team.

Wade signed a two-year, $47 million deal with the Chicago Bulls during the free-agency this summer after talks with the Heat for an extension went fruitless. Wade wanted more than $20 million a year in wages, but Miami was only willing to give around $10 million to $11 million.

Meanwhile, Bosh is still not cleared to play because of his ongoing blood clot problems. Heat president Pat Riley earlier announced that Bosh's time with the club is over and it is up to the All-Star power forward if he wants to join another team.

With the two Miami superstars now out of the squad, Dragic and starting center Hassan Whiteside are set to lead the Heat into a new era. However, rumors abound that Riley may deem the two not enough to pull the club to where they want to be moving forward.

Dragic is reportedly the team's most valuable trade asset as a lot of NBA teams are interested in acquiring the Slovenian playmaker's services.

ESPN reported that "team rival executives are watching closely" and anticipating that Dragic will be available "if they (Heat) get off to a slow start with a roster that suddenly no longer features Dwyane Wade or Chris Bosh".

Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra is a Dragic fan, but Riley is also a known risk-taker who seems to always know how to pull off the right deal at the right time.

Rumors, which have been making rounds online recently, hinted that the Heat and Sacramento Kings are negotiating about a Goran Dragic-Rudy Gay trade and Spoelstra had to assure Dragic that the speculations were untrue, according to CBS Sports.

At the moment, it looks like Miami is still keeping Dragic until the second or third month of the regular season when the team will have a better perspective of where they are headed to for the rest of the year.
