The Cleveland Cavaliers are reportedly shopping Mo Williams and Jordan McRae to interested teams as the reigning NBA champion is searching for a backup point guard.
Williams, who will turn 34 this December, announced his decision to retire last month, but has not yet filed the required paperwork to make it official. Thus, the former Alabama standout is still a part of the team and owed $2.2 million this season even though he missed training camp and the preseason.

Rumors are out that the Cavs is planning to trade him or buyout his contract as soon as the two sides gather for a formal meeting.
Williams is still recuperating from a surgery that removed bone spurs in his left leg earlier in the month.
Williams and rookie Kay Felder are the only other point guards in the Cavs roster other than starter Kyrie Irving, so the club is reportedly pursuing a veteran backup point guard to help them in their title-defense this upcoming season.
With Irving's history of leg injuries, it is important for the Cavs to keep his minutes low in the regular season to prepare him for another deep playoff run next year.
Cavs head coach Tyronn Lue is fully aware of that and so the search for a quality backup that can adapt to their system quickly and efficiently, playing in extensive minutes, is on.
According to Cleveland.com, three possible options for Lue are free agents Norris Cole, Mario Chalmers and Kirk Hinrich. Cole has already signed with a Chinese club on Oct. 5, so that leaves Chalmers and Hinrich as the remaining choices.
Chalmers has been LeBron James' teammate during their championship runs in Miami, but is still sidelined with a torn Achilles and will not be ready to play until January.
Meanwhile, Hinrich, at 35, is deemed too old to play heavy minutes to effectively back up Irving and give him enough rest to be fresh in the playoffs.
There are rumors that a trade with the Minnesota Timberwolves for Ricky Rubio or a deal with the Phoenix Suns for Brandon Knight are other potential options for the Cavs, according to the Inquisitr.
