Oklahoma City Thunder's star player Russell Westbrook registered his second consecutive triple-double game performance of the league's young season against the visiting Los Angeles Lakers at the Chesapeake Energy Arena on Sunday evening.
Westbrook, who tied Magic Johnson's 18-career triple-doubles last season, scored 33 points, 16 assists and 12 rebounds in their 113-96 routing of the Luke Walton-headed ballclub. The two-time NBA All-Star Game MVP's stat lines for that night were also the game's highest.

''I thought we did a good job of running the offense, letting it work for us,'' Westbrook, who also recorded one steal and one blocked shot in over 33 minutes of playing time, said.
''Getting better shots, easy shots, and it worked out for us,'' the Thunder's starting guard added.
Based on the official score box of the match in the official NBA website, Westbrook went 11 for 21 from the field, he only missed one shot from the six three-pointers he fired from beyond the arc and made all the six free throw shots awarded to him during the game.
Though the 2015 NBA scoring champion committed seven turnovers, it is still safe to say that Westbrook had an outstanding all-around game performance against the Lakers.
''He had a masterful game tonight - the way he was getting everyone involved, shooting when the shots were there and playmaking for teammates,'' Lakers head coach Luke Walton said on the game performance of Westbrook as quoted in a report published by Yahoo Sports.
The 27-year-old veteran point guard became the Thunder's lone superstar after the 2014 NBA most Valuable Player Kevin Durant left Oklahoma and joined the Western Conference defending champion Golden State Warriors. Westbrook currently led the team to an impressive three-game winning streak.
The Thunders defeated the Phoenix Suns on Friday with a 113-110 overtime victory, where Westbrook recorded his first triple-double of the season, and got the better of the Philadelphia 76ers with a 103-97 season-opener win on Wednesday night.
