Liaoning Flying Leopards Tops Guangzhou Long-Lions, Remains Unbeaten in Chinese Basketball Association 3rd Round

(Photo : gettyimages.com) Lester Hudson led Liaoning in beating Guangzhou by scoring team-high 30 points and grabbing 15 rebounds to go along with nine assists and two steals.

The current league's leading team Liaoning Flying Leopards kept its perfect record intact after a 101-95 victory against the Guangzhou Long-Lions on Friday night in the third round of the Chinese Basketball Association.

The Flying Leopards, the runner-up in the last season, registered its third straight victory in three games played to remain undefeated in the early round of the biggest professional basketball league in China. Guangzhou, on the other hand, stays without a win and sits at the bottom-low of the team standings with three consecutive losses.

According to Euro-Basket, foreign basketball reinforcement Lester Hudson led Liaoning by scoring team-high 30 points and grabbing 15 rebounds to go along with nine assists and two steals.  The former NBA player went 10 for 27 from the field including five three-pointers in 42 minutes of playing time.

Former Boston Celtics player Shavlik Randolph and 7-foot-1-inch Chinese center Dejun Han both finished the game with 21 points for the winners, who will play Guangdong Southern Tigers on Sunday for their next game assignment. The two big men also contributed a combined 29 rebounds production and protected the rim in six occasions during the game.

Liaoning dominated the boards outrebounding the opposing team with a 56-42 advantage. They also had better shot selections during the game with a team-combined of 18 assists compared to Guangzhou's 15.

The losing team committed a team-combined 29 personal fouls and went 19 for 23 from the free throw line.

According to NowGoal, the winning side snatched the first three quarters and entered the final period of the ballgame enjoying an eight-point lead 73-65. The Long-Lions staged a 30-28 run during the final 12 minutes of the match but it was not enough to steal the game.

American point guard Ryan Boatright Hobson paced Guang zhou with game-high 34 points and nine rebounds with fellow import Alex Kirk adding 22 markers and nine boards.
