Former NBA Player Jamaal Franklin Bags Player of the Week Award in the CBA League

Former NBA shooting guard Jamaal Franklin of Shanxi Zhongyu Brave Dragons had an impressive triple-double game performance, and Asia-Basket.com named him Player of the Week in the third round of the ongoing 22nd season of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league.

The 25-year-old American professional basketball player flaunted an outstanding game night scoring 44 points, grabbing 11 rebounds, and dishing out an unselfish 11 big assists, leading his team to win against Shenzhen Leopards 119-107.
According to Asia-Basket, the former Denver Nuggets player had a remarkable 72.7 percent shooting from the 2-point area and connected eight treys out of his 13 attempts from the three-point region. Franklin has guided the Chinese professional basketball club to its second victory in three games played in the early stage of the regular season.
Franklin is the league's second top-leading player in assists and steals, having an average of 8.3 assists and 3.3 steals per game. He also placed second in the CBA's best in scoring, producing 37.3 points per game. He is averaging 61.8 percent from the field and shoots 42.3 percent accurate from beyond the arc region.
Franklin is the 2013 NBA draft 41st overall pick selected by the Memphis Grizzlies. He signed a deal to play for the Grizzlies despite not appearing for the Robert Pera-owned team in the 2013 NBA Summer League.
During his rookie season, he played in the NBA Developmental League after being assigned to the Fort Wayne Mad Ants. However, the ballclub waived Franklin in August 2014.
According to ESPN, Franklin appeared in three games for the Denver Nuggets during the 2014-15 NBA season, averaging one point and one assist in 4.3 minutes per contest.
Franklin played college basketball at the San Diego State University from 2010 to 2013.
The Zhejiang Lions was the first CBA club that Franklin landed a deal with to play in China. He signed a two-month contract with the team in October 2014 and appeared with them for 26 games.
