Rumors are out that veteran shooting guard Mike Miller could play out the remaining years of his contract with the Denver Nuggets before retiring from professional basketball.

Miller, 36, is in his 17th year in the NBA this season. He was re-signed by the Nuggets to a two-year $7 million contract in July after spending the last season in Denver in a veteran's minimum deal.

The two-time NBA champion was recently asked if this season would be his last as an NBA player and he seemed to be hoping to play some more, as per ESPN.

"I don't think so, I don't know yet," Miller said via BSN Denver. "I have one more (year on my deal), I still love it, I still enjoy being in there, I still love being in the locker room. Travel's getting tough, but to me, it's a blessing. I get to wake up every day and play basketball."

The Nuggets is Miller's seventh team in the league after suiting up for the Orlando Magic, Memphis Grizzlies, Minnesota Timberwolves, Washington Wizards, Miami Heat, and Cleveland Cavaliers in the past.

He won two straight NBA titles with the Big Three of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh in Miami in 2012 and 2013 and was also an NBA Sixth Man of the Year awardee in 2006. He was the NBA Rookie of the Year way back in 2001.

Miller's playing time has dwindled since he was acquired by the Heat in the summer of 2010. He was a double-digit scorer in previous years. His best season was in 2006-2007 in Memphis when he averaged 18.5 points, 5.4 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and 39.1 minutes per game, shooting 40.6 percent from downtown.

Last season, he played only 7.9 minutes a night for the Nuggets, averaging career-lows of 1.3 points, 1.1 boards, and 0.9 assists per game.

Miller is known to be a valuable veteran presence in the locker room and Denver has maximized that role for him with the team's young stars, namely, Emmanuel Mudiay, Jusuf Nurkic, Nikola Jokic, Gary Harris, and rookie Juan Hernangómez.
