HTC has announced that its Bolt smartphone is now exclusively available on the Sprint network. The phone, as the name implies, banks on Sprint's latest network technology which the company claims can provide faster download speed compared to other networks. The HTC Bolt for Sprint starts at $600.

A quick glance at the HTC Bolt reveals that it looks hauntingly familiar with the HTC 10 which was released earlier this year. The two devices have the same aluminum finish with large chamfers. Both have their fingerprint scanner embedded on the front side, along with the capacitive button. HTC said that the Bolt has an IP57 certification which means that device can be submerged to about a meter-deep of water for up to 30 minutes without causing any irreparable damage.
The HTC Bolt has a 5.5-inch display with Quad HD resolution. It has a 16-megapixel optically stabilized rear-facing camera and an 8-megapixel front facing camera for selfies and video calling. The Bolt's camera sensors do not support HTC's Ultra Pixel feature.
Despite their shared design and look, the Bolt falls behind the HTC 10 when it comes to specs. The HTC Bolt has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset and 3GB of RAM, according to The Verge. These specs are fine if the phone was released last year, but it cannot compete with premium-tiered devices that have been released recently. The HTC Bolt has a 3200mAh battery pack. It supports Qualcomm's QuickCharge 2.0 fast charging technology.
Another disappointing fact about the HTC Bolt is its lack of the standard 3.5mm headphone jack. According to GSM Arena, instead of using the more commonly used port, HTC opted to use the USB Type-C for its headphones.
The HTC Bolt runs on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat operating system. HTC made a handful of changes on the software, but it still delivers the same Nexus experience that the company is known for.
