The Akron, Ohio native reached the mark at 31 years and 317 days old.  James beat the previous record set by Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers, who reached the milestone at 32 years and 160 days.

James is in his 14th season in the largest professional basketball league in the world. He entered the NBA as an 18-year-old rookie after being selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2003 NBA Draft as No.1 overall pick.

James became an instant phenomenon and bagged the 2004 NBA Rookie of the Year award. He was named to the All-NBA Second Team the following season and in 2007.

In 2008, he became part of the league's All-NBA First Team and managed to continue being a First Team player since 2008. James, who was a 12-time NBA All-Star, has three championship titles under his belt and has been consistent in claiming the Finals MVP trophy every time his team won the NBA title.

James is currently averaging 23.4 points, 9.3 assists, and 9.0 rebounds in 36.6 minutes of playing time per game. He now ranks No. 14 in the league's leading scorers for this season.

James has won two Olympic Games gold medals in Beijing and London. He also won an NBA scoring title in 2008 and has been the Cavaliers all-time leading scorer.
