Duncan, who retired in July, was the Spurs' main man for nearly two decades. He played a vital role in winning the organization's five NBA championships. Duncan will be eligible for the induction into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2021.

Duncan holds the Spurs' all-time record for points, rebounds, blocked shots, minutes, and number of games played. He also ranked third in assists. In NBA history, Duncan ranked fifth in blocks and double-doubles, sixth in rebounds, and 14th in scoring. Duncan has two regular season MVP awards and three NBA Finals MVP awards under his belt, according to Bleacher Report.

Duncan was selected as the first overall pick by the Spurs during the 1997 NBA draft. Hailing from the U.S. Virgin Islands, he played for Wake Forest during his college days.

In a statement acquired by NBA.com, Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich said, "You don't see Timmy beating his chest as if he was the first human being to dunk the basketball, as a lot of people do these days. He just plays, and we've seen it for so long it's almost become mundane."
