The Boston Celtics are reportedly prepared to offer Avery Bradley, Marcus Smart, rookie Jaylen Brown, and two first-round draft picks to the Houston Rockets for their All-Star shooting guard James Harden.

Boston has been mentioned in a lot of trade rumors since the end of last season as the team continues its search for a legitimate superstar.

The Celtics have acquired All-Star center Al Horford during the summer's free-agency, but the signing was deemed not enough to make the club join the Cleveland Cavaliers and Toronto Raptors as one of the Eastern Conference's top contenders.

Boston is currently in the eighth spot in the East standings with an even 5-5 record as Horford has only played three games so far this season. He was placed in the league's concussion protocol after getting hit in the head during practice and has not returned to the court ever since their third game of the season.

At the moment, All-Star point guard Isaiah Thomas and Bradley have been carrying the load for Boston, and the backcourt duo would need more reinforcement if the team wants to go places this season.

With the team's lack of star power, latest trade rumors have emerged that the Celtics are again targeting Houston's main man Harden and are willing to give up three players and more to get him.

HNGN noted that the Rockets and Celtics have already tried to negotiate a trade involving Harden before last season's February deadline, but no deal has prospered.

Chat Sports Net reported that the two teams revisited their old talks and a package including Bradley, Smart, and Brown and two first-rounders could be sent to the Rockets in exchange for Harden before this season's deadline.

However, the trade rumor seems to be baseless as Harden has become one of the best players in the league this season.

The four-time NBA All-Star is among the league leaders in almost all statistical categories this season, averaging 30.3 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 12.6 assists in 10 games so far. It is highly unlikely that the Rockets would give up the most valuable player in their roster even for the rumored package that Boston has prepared.
