CBA: Jilin Northeast Tigers End Shanghai Sharks’ Winning Streak, Jabari Brown Scores 45 Points

(Photo : gettyimages.com) American swingman Jabari Brown poured in game-high 45 points to lead Jilin to its fourth win of the season.
Jilin Northeast Tigers handed the powerhouse team of Shanghai Sharks its first ever loss of the season on Wednesday evening in the seventh round of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA).
The victory was the biggest upset of the early season with the Sharks, who have won all of its last six matches played, dwell on the top of the table before suffering a narrow 104-103 downfall against the Bob Donewald-headed Chinese ballclub.

According to EuroBasket, American swingman Jabari Brown led the Northeast Tigers to its fourth win in seven games played this season. The former Los Angeles Lakers guard poured in game-high 45 points including five connections from the three-point marker while going on with a 12 for 22 shooting from the field in 33 minutes of playing time.
American forward Malcolm Thomas had a double-double game production of 13 points and 27 rebounds to go along with seven assists, one steal, and one blocked shot, while Chinese guard Jinming Cui contributed with 16 markers, four assists, and four steals for the Northeast Tigers.
Former NBA player Jimmer Fredette paced Shanghai with 36 points.
The winning team will be facing the Fujian Sturgeons in the next round of the league. The Sturgeons currently hold a record of three wins and four loses.
Basing from the game results of NowGoal, Shanghai began the opening period with a strong start staging an early 31-22 run during the first 12 minutes of the match. However, Jilin was able to regroup and put up a strong 29-15 run during the second quarter to grab the lead at the half 51-46.
In the third period, the Sharks held the Northeast Tigers to just 27 points, while the Yao Ming-owned CBA club produced 30 to cut the deficit to just a single basket 78-76 going to the final quarter of the ballgame.
In quarter number four, the game was a tight race but the Northeast Tigers escaped with a one-point victory.
