YouTube's "DomisLive" reported in his latest Grand Theft Auto V video some situations where hackers are stealing millions of dollars and weapons from random players, and even cases of hackers causing players to lose cars in their garage.
One GTA user claimed all of his weapons were robbed by a modder, causing him to pay nearly $1 million in-game cash to get everything he earned back, but didn't go into specifics about how it happened.

Another user claimed he was in a tank killing people when random explosions occurred causing the tank to blow up even though no one was around him at the time. Once the user spawned back into the game after being blown up, all his weapons were gone leading him to spend over $400,000 on buying his weapons and ammo back.
It certainly seems the concept of hackers stealing money or weapons in GTA Online is occurring more and more often. Any players who find themselves caught in this situation should immediately go to the Rockstar Support forums and create a ticket explaining what happened.
DomisLive suggests users should play in private sessions while avoiding public lobbies as much as possible to prevent being hacked.
In addition to players losing money and weapons, hackers are also griefing players by causing the cars parked in their garage to be lost, even if they're insured.
This is done by modders placing a huge shipping container inside a random player's garage. Since the container is big enough to take three car spots, three cars eventually blowup or simply disappear. Reports show users unable to retrieve these cars back.
However in the Rockstar Support forums, Rockstar responded with a solution to fix this situation, mentioning to follow two steps.
The first step is to turn off the console and re-boot GTA V. The second step is to hold LB + RB (if using Xbox) or L1 + R1 (if using Playstation) all the way through the opening screens.
The game should then prompt you to re-calibrate your brightness, meaning your game settings have been reset. According to Rockstar, this should fix the issues and the cars should successfully re-appear in the garage.
