Beijing Flights Cancelled as Weather Worsens

All flights heading to and leaving the Beijing International Airport have been canceled becase of the freezing weather affecting in the region.
The harsh weather conditions were expected to drop even further from the current minus nine between Tuesday and Thursday.

According to South China Morning Post, a statement issued by airport officials read that several flights had been canceled from either arriving or depart at the International airport.
Local authorities have also reportedly blocked 19 bus routes from operating. The closed roads had become icy and were not fit to be operational.
According to the Jakarta Post, traffic has been chaotic in the affected regions. Motorists have been forced to operate on rough roads. Highway traffic was inevitable with millions of vehicles on the move.
"It took me more than an hour to get to work today when usually the commute takes only 30 minutes," said one resident.
Alhough a great number of flights have been affected, Singapore flights are still operational.
The temperatures currently being witnessed in the region is the worst in years.
"China has recorded 55% more rainfall in October, compared with the other levels in the past years," said Zhou Bing, the chief engineer at the National Climate Centre.
As at Monday, the weather forecast stood at a high of zero and a low of minus 8. With the impending snow winds, the temperature was expected to reduce to a high of minus 2.
