E-commerce website Flipkart has claimed that over one million units of the Xiaomi Redmi 3S smartphone had been sold since its launch in August in India. The smartphone is currently priced on Flipkart at around Rs. 6,999 (approximately $ 101.69 / 703.83 Yuan).

Flipkart has made its announcement on the company's official Twitter account with a post hashtagging "#1MillionRedmi3SOnFlipkart." The e-commerce site also revealed that the Redmi 3S smartphone is the best-selling Xiaomi smartphone in India.

The Xiaomi Redmi 3S smartphone features a metallic unibody design with a curved back. It has a 5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) display screen. Under the hood, the handheld device is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 430 processor clocked at a speed of 1.4GHz. It comes equipped with 2GB of RAM onboard and a built-in 16GB of internal memory storage, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD slot.

The Xiaomi Redmi 3S smartphone sports a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front facing shooter. The phone will be running on the Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) operating system out of the box, which is coupled with Xiaomi's latest MIUI 7 user interface laid on top. It is backed by 4,100 mAh capacity battery inside.

Other features the device offers include Bluetooth, dual SIM (GSM and GSM), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, Infrared, FM, USB OTG, 3G and 4G (with support for Band 40 used by some LTE networks in India). Sensors on the phone include proximity sensor, compass magnetometer, ambient light sensor, accelerometer, and gyroscope. It measures body dimension of 139.30 x 69.60 x 8.50 mm and weighs 144.00 grams.

The Xiaomi Redmi 3S is available in gold, silver, and gray color variants.
