Chinese Basketball Association: Guangdong Southern Tigers Grind Bayi Rockets, Yi Jianlian Scores 25 Points

The red-hot Guangdong Southern Tigers continued to extend its winnings as they demolished the lowly team of Bayi Rockets in the 10th round of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) with a lopsided 44-point margin 122-78 triumph on Wednesday evening.
According to EuroBasket, the league's four-time Domestic Most Valuable Player Yi Jianlian had a game-high 25 points to lead the Southern Tigers to its seventh win since the new season started this late of October. The Chinese basketball Superstar also had five rebounds and three steals in 26 minutes of playing time.

His Chinese teammate Peng Zhou finished the game with 23 points while American import Donald Sloan chipped in with 19 markers and local players Shang Gao and Junfei Ren have a combined 23 points for the Southern Tigers, who are on a five-game winning streak after suffering the team's third loss of the season against the current league leader Shanghai Sharks in the fifth round of the competition.
The Rockets, which own a disappointing 1-9 win-loss record and currently rank 19th in the 20-team Chinese league, was paced by the Chinese shooting guard Azat Shoklet with 17 points. They will face Shenzhen Leopards in the next round on Sunday while the Southern Tigers will play the Shandong Golden Stars on Friday.
According to NowGoal, the game was entirely dominated by the winning team. The Southern Tigers staged an early 37-15 run in the first 12 minutes of the contest and continued to pound Bayi with another 24-15 second quarter charge to secure a comfortable 31-point advantage 61-30 as both teams went in to their respective locker rooms.
In the second half, the Feng Du-headed basketball club continued to bury the low-spirited players of the Ningbo, Zhejiang-based CBA team. Guangdong forced Bayi to commit 13 turnovers and managed to record 11 steals during the game. The Southern Tigers also controlled the boards, outrebounding the Rockets with a 46-26 advantage.
