A growing number of iPhone 6s users are complaining about the phone's battery issues. In order to address this problem, tech giant Apple recently announced that the company will be rolling out a software patch in order to resolve it.

Thousands of users are complaining that their iPhone 6s phones randomly shut down even if there is still around 50 or 60 percent remaining battery. An investigation on the issue reveals that iPhones manufactured from September to October 2015 are the ones affected by the problem.

The Cupertino-based tech company tried to contain the situation by offering free battery replacements on condition that only those manufactured from September to October 2015 will be replaced. However, a growing number of users are complaining that they are also experiencing the same problem even if their phone models were not manufactured on the said timeframe.

In a statement posted on its Chinese website, Apple said, "We are including additional diagnostic capability in an iOS software update which will be available next week. This will allow us to gather information over the coming weeks which may potentially help us improve the algorithms used to manage battery performance and shutdown."

Apple added that it will release a software update once they are able to resolve the issue. Apple's diagnostic tool is expected to be released as part of iOS 10.2 update, which is due to be released next week. According to Mac World, Apple said that the issue may have been caused by overexposure to "controlled ambient air" during manufacturing.
