Under the hood, the 2017 Challenger GT has a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine capable of outputting up to 305 horsepower at 6,350 rpm and 268 pound-feet of torque at 4,800 rpm. The car has an eight-speed automatic transmission with paddles mounted on the steering wheel for manual shifts.

The Challenger GT is configured to send all of its engine's power to the rear wheels in normal driving conditions. This setup allows the car to save fuel as well as retain its rear-biased handling. However, the all-wheel drive setup is automatically activated if the sensors installed into the car detect that the rear wheels are slipping making it ideal for tackling blizzards and snowy roads.

In terms of fuel economy, the 2017 Dodge Challenger GT is rated at 18 mpg in city and 27 mpg on highway, according to Digital Trends. Dodge is yet to confirm if it will build an all-wheel drive Challenger with a V8 under its hood.

The 2017 Dodge Challenger GT has some standard issue features like leather upholstery, heated steering wheel, heated and ventilated front seats, front and rear parking sensors, aluminum trim, and a six-speaker sound system.

The 2017 Challenger GT has a 190-inch alloy wheels with black finish. It has a spoiler mounted on the trunk and fog lights. The car looks identical to its rear-wheel drive counterparts and only the GT emblem on the fender separates it from the bunch.

According to AutoBlog, the 2017 Challenger GT is expected to pick a price tag of $33,395 for its base model and on top of that is a mandatory $1,095 destination charge.
