Shanghai Shark’s Jimmer Fredette Claims the Player of the Week Honor in the Chinese Basketball Association

The league's current scoring leader Jimmer Fredette of the Shanghai Sharks had an all-around game performance in the last 15th round of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) regular season earning him the right to be named Asia-Basket.com Player of the Week.
The 27-year-old former NBA player flaunted remarkable basketball skills in their 113-111 overtime victory against the Shandong Golden Stars last Friday scoring 47 points and grabbing 17 rebounds to go along with four assists, one steal, and one blocked shot. Fredette nailed in seven three-pointers and made 10-of-11 from the foul line while playing for a solid 52 minutes, basing from the box score of the EuroBasket.

The former Sacramento Kings guard had an impressive stat line in his first season in the Chinese league. Fredette is currently averaging 39.1 points per game, beating all other top scorers in the CBA.
According to Asia-Basket, the American professional basketball player is also in the league's top 10 players with the most steals per outing, registering an average of 2.3 steals per contest, placing him in the eighth spot. He has a 55.6 field goal percentage and a 42.5 percent shooting accuracy from beyond the arc region.
Fredette has led the Yao Ming-owned basketball side to the peak of the team standing steering the team to 15 victories in 16 games played this season. The Sharks solitary lost of the regular season was against the team of Jilin following their 104-103 defeat with the Northeast Tigers in the seventh round of the competition.
With Freddete's impressive game performances, the Sharks have become a strong contender for the CBA title. Last September, with steady shooting hands, Fredette lifted the Chinese professional basketball club in claiming the 2016 Merlion Cup over the Philippine squad of Mighty Sports with a close 78-77 triumph after the former BYU Cougars hotshot made all of his three free throws after getting fouled during the dying seconds of the championship match.
