Manchester United is reportedly set to sell Morgan Schneiderlin to rival English Premier League club Everton in January as the two teams negotiate a "fair price" for the French midfielder.
Schneiderlin, 27, was acquired by United in the summer of 2015 from Southampton for a transfer fee of $30 million when former manager Louis van Gaal was still at the helm in Old Trafford.

The Frenchman saw significant English top-flight action under van Gaal, playing in 29 Premier League games and scoring twice mainly as a defensive midfielder last season. However, Schneiderlin does not seem to be in current head coach Jose Mourinho's plans as he had only appeared two times this season.
Schneiderlin's chances of playing first-team football are rumored to have been decreased by the summer acquisitions of Paul Pogba and Henrikh Mkhitaryan plus the emergence of Marouane Fellaini and Ander Herrera.
The Sun reported that Everton boss Ronald Koeman has made Schneiderlin "one of his top priorities" when the winter transfer window opens in January and that "contact has been made" between Everton and United.
United will reportedly sell the France international for $31.4 million just to recover the $30 million the club spent on him last year.
Koeman, who had managed Schneiderlin during his previous stint with Southampton, is said to be guaranteeing the Frenchman regular starting XI time at the Goodison Park moving forward should he agree to join him at the Toffees in midseason.
The Dutch mentor is said to be planning to sell James McCarthy and 35-year-old Gareth Barry during the winter window and he is set to open a need at the defensive midfielder position as a result, according to the Daily Star.
Schneiderlin's contract with United will expire in 2019 and the club is reportedly not planning to give him an extension anytime soon.
Aside from Schneiderlin, team captain Wayne Rooney and forward Memphis Depay are also two other targets by Everton in January as Koeman is reportedly keen on raiding the Manchester outfit.
